In the popular Japanese anime series Bluelock, the protagonist aims to become the ultimate striker for Japan, with an unquenching desire to be the best in the world come what may. In Season 4 of ACES Football League, Bluelock FC strive to be the best team in the league by taking inspiration from the popular series.

It has been some journey for Obaidur Haque, the man who owns Bluelock FC. From player, to his perfume brand ORMH being the title sponsor for Season 3, and now becoming an owner in Season 4. Team ownership is something that Obaidur had on his bucket list since he was a teenager.

“When we were young, we always used to play football and look in awe at the guys who used to own teams back then. Since then, it was always an aim to own a football team in the years ahead. Everyone wants to own a team, and everyone wants to have a team where they can have themselves and their friends play together and have a good time, while also winning games along the way,” he says.

Obaidur was one of the better-performing players for his side, Roarers FC, in Season 3. Making his comeback after a prolonged absence from the game, he announced his arrival with a Player of the Match performance in his first game back against Encore United. However, an injury midway through the season ended his campaign, and while he will be owning the team, rehab from his injury means he will unfortunately not be suiting up to play this season.

When asked about why name his side Bluelock FC, Obaidur spoke about the fact that Bluelock is his favourite anime series, and made a tongue-in-cheek comment about building a team full of strikers, including the goalkeeper.

Obaidur touched upon the learnings that he took from last season, and the biggest one he came across was the fact that every team built a core not only on skill alone, but also on the basis of familiarity, making chemistry a huge factor, something that went against his side in Season 3.

So ahead of Season 4, Bluelock has built a core that not only has experience, but also has the familiarity and the chemistry that Obaidur spoke about in detail. Dave Deohans, Kaif Muneer, and Siddharth Castelino all join the team, with the trio finishing runners-up last season as part of the Matero Power 8 side.

Yash Pathak brings in his experience as a title winner with Titans from Season 1. Utsav Bachani is the new addition to this side, while Obaidur’s brother Ibadur, a member of the ACES Football League family since its inception, completes the core.

Ibadur Haque comes back for another season, continuing his longstanding affiliation with ACES Football League.

Bluelock FC are pooled alongside Trana United, Casuals FC, Youngblood FC, Wasted Potential, and Cathect FC in Pool A. When asked about what sets him apart from the rest of the owners in his pool, Obaidur feels he is more compassionate compared to the rest, as he understands the game deeply and more passionately than the rest.

So with all things said and done, Bluelock FC will look to make a massive stride as they take to the pitch in Season 4 of ACES Football League. Whatever else happens, we are bound to be entertained with this side, that is for sure.
