For Wren D’Abreo, football has never just been a sport. It has been a constant in his life, from playing in school to managing a team in ACES Season One. The game has always been part of who he is.

During the week, Wren works as a Market Manager with Expedia, handling the Mumbai portfolio of top hotels for one of the world’s leading online travel agencies. His job calls for precision, relationship-building and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Those same skills have helped him in football, whether on the pitch or in a managerial role. In Season One, he managed Bandra United, leading from the back with dedication and focus.
This year he won’t be returning as a player, but for a wonderful reason. In just a few weeks, Wren will become a father for the first time. With this exciting chapter ahead, football will take a temporary back seat. Still, his love for the game and the ACES community means he will remain involved as a committee member.
For Wren, joining the committee is about more than just helping with logistics. It is about being part of a community where there is transparency, openness, and a genuine bond between players, managers and organizers. Having organized tournaments in Mumbai for years, he brings valuable experience and a clear vision for how ACES can grow.

What stands out most to him about ACES is the atmosphere. It is a league built on both competition and camaraderie. Friendships grow deeper, new connections are made, and the love of the game is shared both on and off the pitch. In Season One, Wren was impressed by the professionalism and structure, but he is already thinking about ways to make Season Two even better. One of his main goals is to bring in more spectators and families to watch the games, creating an even stronger sense of community.
Living just opposite St. Andrews Turf Ground, Wren has grown up with many of the players now competing in the league. The familiar faces, along with the chance to meet new people, make ACES a place where he feels completely at home. And while he won’t be saving goals this season, his presence will be felt in the way the tournament grows and evolves.
As ACES enters its next chapter, Wren is a reminder that you don’t have to be on the pitch to make an impact. Sometimes, the most important contributions happen behind the scenes, shaping the game and the community for everyone involved.
